So Long 2017

~~When I was a MUCH younger man, I played several sports. I was tall, thin and fast, so I ran a little track and field. I ran the 100-yard dash and the 400-yard relay race. Back in those days we measured the distances in yards! (smile)

2017 presented many new opportunities for me. Several blessings and a few trials.

~~      I was looking at my “TAKE TIME” sheet that my mom gave me many years ago, and I noticed there isn’t a TAKE TIME to be thankful, so this one IS mine!
TAKE TIME to be THANKFUL -  it allows us to reflect on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we want to go. It helps us to be humble and helps with our peace. It allows us time to appreciate who we love AND who loves us!

~~Family, food and thanksgiving. A time where some people exchange gifts, but how many know that the BEST gift isn’t wrapped at all? Time together! How much is that worth? Just a thought.
I am happy to be able to offer my second children’s story, The Adventure of Bobby the Butterfly. The team of adifferentkindofstorybook.com, put our gifts together and produced a story that I believe you’re going to love. The book is directed at children up to age 12; however, the story message is pertinent up to age 18.

~~45 years ago, today, I boarded a train from Boston to Fort Dix, New Jersey. I was drafted prior to the draft being abolished. I had guys from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and other states from the Northeast in my barracks. I was chosen to be our squad leader. Needless to say, we weren’t very happy sitting in our new home.

Dedication - October 20, 2013

~~I have been blessed in SO many ways along my journey. As we all have, I’ve had my share of ups and downs. God has blessed me with this ministry and through it I have learned the value of “glancing” in the rear view mirror of life, but focusing and dreaming out ahead through the windshield of life.
Perhaps the greatest blessing that He has ever given me is my mom. She NEVER turned her back on me. Her health had taken a turn and I had the privilege of being able to care for her. Ten, fifteen, twenty years ago, I was caught up in the grip of addiction, BUT GOD delivered me from my dark room and I am able, not only to be found, but able to take care of my mom when she needed me.
