At the Daniele Boone Pioneer Festival in Winchester, KY this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Paschal Baute, Chaplain to our BVA chapter and his friend Veteran Charles W. Taylor, Jr. have a booth in the gym to present their products and to offer live storytelling hourly. Charles shared his story at our August Blind Veterans meeting. He is a graduate of the Fayette County Drug Court and a survivor of 25 years of crack cocaine habit. Charles is also president of the men’s ministry group at the Greater Liberty Missionary Baptist Church on Chestnut street in Lexington.
Paschal will present his 5 star-rated children’s Picture book: Lottie Mae: The Turkey who Could Not stop Dreaming, a barnyard turkey who was born handicapped and bullied, overcame setbacks to “fly the coop” and escape becoming Thanksgiving dinner. Charles will present his nine books and his six Cd’s, about addiction and his children’s story: The Adventure of Bobby the Butterfly.
Paschal and Charlie will also have storytelling sessions hourly. They have the first booths just inside the gym door opposite the check in desk. You are invited to come share their fun, all day Saturday 9-6, and Sunday 10-5.
